완도군, 고향사랑기부제 지정 기부 이어져

완도군의 고향사랑기부제 지정 기부 사업인 「완도군BC 유소년 야구단 육성 지원」 모금액이 목표액의 94%를 넘어섰다.

지난 6일 열린 ‘약산 진달래·흑염소 축제’에서 양광용 광주전남시도민회장이 유소년 야구단을 위해 1천만 원을 기부하며 지역사회에 따뜻한 감동을 전했다.

고향사랑기부제 지정 기부 사업은 기부자가 기부금 사용처를 직접 지정할 수 있는 제도로, 완도군의 1호 사업인 유소년 야구단 육성 지원 모금 목표액은 4천만 원이다.

모금된 기부금은 야구 꿈나무들의 훈련에 필요한 장비 구입과 대회 참가비 등 청소년 스포츠 활성화를 위한 다양한 지원에 활용될 예정이다.

특히, 창단 1년 6개월 만에 전국 대회에서 두 차례 우승을 차지하며 유소년 야구계의 신흥 강자로 떠오른 완도군BC 유소년 야구단의 성과는 군민들에게 큰 자부심을 주고 있다.

완도군은 이와 함께 고향사랑기부금을 활용해 미취학 아동 육아 여성을 위한 해양치유센터 이용 지원 사업인 ‘육아 맘, 해(海)캉스 치유의 달’, 섬마을 취약계층을 위한 ‘청산면 마을 공동 빨래방 운영 지원’ 등 따뜻한 복지 시책도 추진하고 있다.

군 관계자는 “앞으로도 고향사랑기부금을 효율적으로 활용해 유소년 야구단을 비롯한 인재 육성과 군민 복리 증진에 최선을 다하겠다.”며 “나눔의 마음이 모여 지역이 더 훈훈해지고 희망찬 미래를 만들어가길 기대한다.”고 말했다.

Wando County Sees Continued Donations to the Hometown Love Donation Program
― Youth Baseball Team Support Fundraising Reaches 94% of Goal ―
The designated donation project under Wando County’s Hometown Love Donation Program, “Wando BC Youth Baseball Team Development Support,” has surpassed 94% of its fundraising goal.
On September 6, during the Yaksan Azalea & Black Goat Festival, Yang Gwang-yong, Chairman of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Provincial Residents’ Association, donated 10 million KRW to support the youth baseball team, delivering a heartwarming message of community solidarity.
The designated donation program allows donors to specify where their contributions will be used. Wando County’s first designated project—supporting the youth baseball team—has set a fundraising goal of 40 million KRW.
Funds raised will be used to purchase training equipment and cover tournament participation fees, helping to foster youth sports and nurture future baseball talent.
Remarkably, the Wando BC Youth Baseball Team has already made its mark on the national stage, securing two championship titles within just 18 months of its founding, bringing pride and joy to local residents.
In addition, Wando County is using Hometown Love donations to promote warm-hearted welfare initiatives such as the “Healing Month for Moms” program at the Marine Healing Center for mothers of preschool children, and the “Community Laundry Room” project in Cheongsan-myeon to support vulnerable households in island villages.
A county official said, “We will continue to use Hometown Love donations efficiently to foster talent, including our youth baseball team, and to improve the well-being of residents. We hope that these acts of sharing will make our community warmer and create a brighter future together.”
