진도소방서(서장 김재출)는 지난 9월 16일 오전 10시부터 12시까지 한국수자원공사 진도수도지사 청용정수장에서 ‘밀폐 공간 특별대응 구조훈련’을 실시했다.

이번 훈련은 진도소방서 구조대와 한국수자원공사 진도수도지사가 합동으로 진행했으며, 밀폐 공간 내 질식사고 등 복합재난 상황에 대한 대응 역량 강화를 목표로 했다.

주요 훈련 내용은 차량 접근로 및 구조 동선 파악, 시설 용도별 위험요소 분석, 가상 시나리오에 따른 구조 활동 등이다. 구조대원들은 가스 측정 후 보호 장비를 착용하고 밀폐공간에 진입해 요구조자를 구조하는 과정을 실전처럼 펼쳤다.

특히, 수자원공사 직원을 대상으로 한 현장 안전관리 컨설팅도 병행해 유해가스 위험성과 안전관리의 중요성에 대한 경각심을 높였다.

또한 가스측정기 사용법과 보호 장비 착용 요령 등 실질적인 안전수칙도 안내하며 현장 근무자의 안전의식을 강화했다.

김재출 진도소방서장은 “이번 훈련은 실전 대응 능력은 물론 현장 근무자의 안전의식 제고에도 큰 의미가 있었다.”며 “앞으로도 다양한 상황을 가정한 훈련을 지속적으로 실시해 군민의 생명과 안전을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

Jindo Fire Station Conducts ‘Confined Space Special Response Rescue Drill’
In cooperation with K-water Jindo Branch… Enhancing real-world response capabilities
Jindo Fire Station (Chief Kim Jae-chul) conducted a “Confined Space Special Response Rescue Drill” on September 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cheongyong Water Purification Plant of K-water’s Jindo Branch.
The drill was carried out jointly by the Jindo Fire Station Rescue Unit and K-water’s Jindo Branch, with the aim of strengthening response capabilities to complex disaster situations such as asphyxiation accidents in confined spaces.
Key training activities included identifying vehicle access routes and rescue movement lines, analyzing risk factors by facility type, and conducting rescue operations based on simulated scenarios. Rescue personnel measured gas levels, donned protective equipment, and entered the confined space to carry out a rescue as if in a real emergency.
In particular, on-site safety management consulting was provided for K-water employees, raising awareness of the dangers of hazardous gases and the importance of safety management.
Practical safety guidelines, including how to use gas detectors and wear protective gear, were also shared to enhance workers’ safety awareness.
Chief Kim Jae-chul of Jindo Fire Station stated, “This drill was highly meaningful, not only for strengthening real-world response capabilities but also for improving safety awareness among on-site workers. We will continue to conduct training under various simulated situations to do our utmost to safeguard the lives and safety of local residents.”
