진도군보건소 정신건강복지센터는 자살 예방과 생명존중 문화 확산을 위해 ‘생명존중안심마을’ 조성 사업을 본격 추진한다고 18일 밝혔다.

이번 사업에는 진도읍 10개 기관, 의신면 8개 기관 등 총 18개 기관이 참여하며, 보건의료, 교육, 복지, 공공기관, 지역사회 영역에서 협력해 안전하고 따뜻한 마을 만들기에 나선다.

사업의 핵심 목표는 주민이 일상에서 서로를 살피고, 위기 징후가 있는 이웃을 조기에 발견해 지원할 수 있는 지역사회 중심의 생명 안전망 구축이다.

진도군보건소 관계자는 “생명존중안심마을은 주민과 지역사회가 함께 참여해 생명을 지키는 따뜻한 공동체 모델”이라며, “앞으로도 주민 중심의 정신건강 지원체계를 강화하고 위기 상황에 대한 대응 역량을 높여 나가겠다.”라고 말했다.

[Jindo = Haenam News] – The Jindo County Public Health Center’s Mental Health Welfare Center announced on the 18th that it is officially launching the “Life Respect Safe Village” project to promote suicide prevention and foster a culture of life respect.
The project involves a total of 18 institutions, including 10 in Jindo-eup and 8 in Uisin-myeon, collaborating across healthcare, education, welfare, public institutions, and the local community to create safe and caring villages.
The main goal of the initiative is to establish a community-based safety network in which residents watch out for one another in daily life and provide early support to neighbors showing signs of crisis.
A representative from the Jindo County Public Health Center stated, “The Life Respect Safe Village is a warm community model where residents and local organizations work together to protect lives. We will continue to strengthen resident-centered mental health support systems and enhance our capacity to respond to crisis situations.”
