진도군은 최근 진도군청 지하 종합상황실에서 도급업체를 대상으로 중대재해 예방 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 폭염으로 인한 산업현장 사고 위험이 높아지는 상황에서, 도급업체의 안전보건관리 역량을 강화하고 현장 사고를 예방하기 위해 마련됐다.

교육에는 인양기 공사, 부잔교 공사, 해양쓰레기 정화 사업, 육상 집하장 설치 공사 등 수산업 관련 현장에서 근무하는 도급업체 관계자들이 참석했다.

진도군 안전생활지원과는 폭염 대비 안전보건관리 주요 지침, 도급·용역·위탁 시 수급인의 법적 의무 등 실무에 필요한 안전보건관리 절차를 안내했다.

특히, 진도군은 올해 여름 폭염 기간 동안 발생한 실제 중대재해 사례를 공유하며 경각심을 높였다. 지난 7월, 진도군 해양쓰레기 정화 사업 현장에서 작업자 한 명이 고열과 탈수 증상으로 인한 응급 상황을 겪었던 사례가 있었다.

해당 작업자는 즉시 응급조치를 받고 안전하게 구조됐지만, 군은 이 사례를 통해 폭염 속 안전 관리의 중요성을 강조했다.


진도군 안전생활지원과 관계자는 “최근 폭염으로 산업현장에서 사고 위험이 커지고 있다.”며, “이번 교육을 계기로 도급업체 현장 관리와 안전보건 절차를 철저히 하고, 중대재해 예방에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

진도군은 앞으로도 여름철 폭염과 겨울철 한파 등 계절별 위험 요인을 반영한 맞춤형 안전교육과 현장 점검을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

Jindo County recently held a major accident prevention training for contractors at the Jindo County Hall basement control room.
The training was organized to enhance contractors’ safety and health management capabilities and prevent on-site accidents amid the increased risk posed by extreme heat in industrial settings.
Participants included representatives from contractors working in crane operations, pontoon construction, marine debris cleanup projects, and onshore collection site installations, all related to the fisheries industry.
The Jindo County Safety Life Support Division provided guidance on key safety and health management measures during heatwaves, as well as contractors’ legal obligations regarding subcontracting, outsourcing, and commissioned work, covering practical procedures necessary for safe operations.
In particular, the county shared a real-life incident that occurred during this summer’s heatwave to raise awareness. In July, a worker on a marine debris cleanup project experienced an emergency situation due to heatstroke and dehydration. The worker received immediate medical attention and was safely rescued, highlighting the critical importance of safety management during extreme heat.
A spokesperson from the Safety Life Support Division stated, “The risk of accidents in industrial sites has increased due to the recent heatwave. Through this training, we aim to reinforce on-site safety management and procedures, and do our utmost to prevent major accidents.”
Jindo County plans to continue implementing customized safety training and on-site inspections reflecting seasonal risks, including both summer heatwaves and winter cold spells.
