완도해경, 새벽 바다에 빠진 30대 남성 2명 신속 구조

완도읍 해안가에서 야간에 술을 마시던 중 바다에 빠진 30대 남성 2명이 해양경찰의 신속한 대응으로 무사히 구조됐다.

완도해양경찰서(서장 김태환)는 22일 새벽 완도읍 한 모텔 앞 해상에서 발생한 익수사고 현장에 구조세력을 급파해 바다에 빠진 30대 남성 2명을 구조한 뒤 119구급대에 인계했다고 밝혔다.

완도해경에 따르면 이날 오전 1시37분께 “사람이 바다에 빠졌다”는 신고가 119를 통해 접수됐다.

신고를 전달받은 완도해경은 구조정과 연안구조정, 순찰차를 즉시 현장으로 출동시켰다.

현장에 도착한 구조대는 신고 접수 약 10분 만인 오전 1시46분께 바다에 빠져 있던 남성 2명을 모두 구조했다.

구조 당시 두 사람은 모두 의식이 있는 상태였으며, 현장에서 응급조치를 받은 뒤 119구급대에 인계돼 병원으로 이송됐다.
병원 검사 결과 두 사람 모두 건강에는 특별한 이상이 없는 것으로 확인됐다.

완도해경은 이들이 야간에 술을 마시던 중 해상으로 추락한 것으로 보고 정확한 사고 경위를 확인하고 있다.
송규하 완도해경 경비구조과장은 “음주 후에는 판단력과 운동능력이 크게 떨어져 작은 실수도 큰 사고로 이어질 수 있다.”며 “특히 야간에는 음주 상태로 해안가나 항·포구 주변에 출입하는 것을 자제해야 한다.”고 당부했다.

이어 “해상이나 해안가에서 위급상황이 발생하면 지체하지 말고 즉시 119 또는 해양경찰에 신고해 달라”고 말했다.

Two men in their 30s who fell into the sea while drinking near the coast of Wando-eup late at night were safely rescued thanks to the swift response of the Wando Coast Guard.
The Wando Coast Guard, headed by Chief Kim Tae-hwan, said it dispatched rescue personnel to the waters in front of a motel in Wando-eup early on July 22 and rescued the two men before handing them over to emergency medical personnel.
According to the Coast Guard, it received a report from the fire authorities at around 1:37 a.m. that people had fallen into the sea.
Upon receiving the report, the Coast Guard immediately dispatched a rescue boat, a coastal rescue vessel and a patrol vehicle to the scene.
Rescue personnel arrived at the site and pulled both men from the water at around 1:46 a.m., about 10 minutes after the initial report.
Both men were conscious at the time of rescue. They received emergency treatment at the scene before being transferred to a hospital by a 119 emergency medical team.
Medical examinations confirmed that neither man had suffered any serious health problems.
The Wando Coast Guard believes the men fell into the sea while drinking late at night and is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
“Alcohol significantly reduces judgment and physical coordination, meaning even a minor mistake can lead to a serious accident,” said Song Gyu-ha, head of the Wando Coast Guard’s Security and Rescue Division.
“People should especially avoid entering coastal areas, ports or fishing harbors at night after drinking,” he said.
He added, “In the event of an emergency at sea or along the coast, people should immediately call 119 or the Coast Guard without delay.”
