설 명절을 앞두고 진도경찰서가 지역의 소외된 이웃을 향한 따뜻한 동행에 나섰다.

진도경찰서(서장 황동석)는 11일 관내 사회복지시설을 방문해 위문품을 전달하며, 명절을 맞은 사회적 약자들에게 온정의 손길을 전했다.

이번 방문은 명절 기간 상대적으로 외로움과 소외감을 느끼기 쉬운 이웃들과 마음을 나누고, 나눔과 배려의 공동체 문화를 확산하기 위해 마련됐다.
진도경찰서 직원들은 시설 관계자들과 현장의 어려움을 공유하며, 단순한 위문을 넘어 지속적인 관심과 연대를 약속했다.

황동석 진도경찰서장은 “설 명절을 맞아 소외된 이웃들이 조금이나마 따뜻한 명절을 보내는 데 보탬이 되길 바란다.”며 “앞으로도 경찰의 역할을 치안에만 한정하지 않고, 사회적 약자 보호와 지원 활동을 꾸준히 실천해 나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.

진도경찰서는 앞으로도 지역사회와 함께하는 현장 중심의 복지 연계 활동을 통해, 군민의 안전은 물론 삶의 온기까지 지켜가는 경찰상을 이어간다는 방침이다.

Jindo Police Visit Social Welfare Facilities Ahead of Lunar New Year, Sharing Community Compassion
Ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays, the Jindo Police Station has stepped forward with a warm gesture of solidarity for marginalized members of the local community.
On the 11th, the Jindo Police Station (Chief Hwang Dong-seok) visited social welfare facilities within the county and delivered care packages, extending heartfelt support to socially vulnerable residents during the holiday season.
The visit was organized to share warmth with neighbors who are more likely to feel loneliness and isolation during the holidays, and to promote a culture of sharing and mutual care within the community. Officers from the Jindo Police Station listened to on-site concerns from facility staff and went beyond a simple courtesy visit by pledging continued attention and solidarity.
Chief Hwang Dong-seok said, “I hope this gesture helps our marginalized neighbors enjoy a warmer Lunar New Year, even in a small way,” adding, “We will continue to practice the role of the police not only as guardians of public order, but also as active supporters and protectors of socially vulnerable groups.”
The Jindo Police Station plans to continue strengthening community-based welfare partnerships, pursuing a model of policing that safeguards not only the safety of residents, but also the human warmth of everyday life.
