해남경찰서가 최근 청소년들에게까지 확산하고 있는 사이버 도박의 위험성을 알리고 건전한 예방 문화를 조성하기 위해 청소년들이 직접 참여하는 예방 공모전을 마련했다.

해남경찰서(서장 박미영)는 학생들을 대상으로 ‘청소년 사이버 도박 범죄 예방 공모전’​을 개최한다고 1일 밝혔다.

이번 공모전은 청소년들이 온라인상에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 사이버 도박의 위험성을 스스로 생각하고 경각심을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.
공모 주제는 ‘청소년 사이버 도박 범죄 예방 및 근절’​이다.

학생들이 사이버 도박의 위험성과 중독의 심각성, 범죄 예방의 필요성을 쉽고 강력하게 전달할 수 있는 창의적이고 참신한 슬로건을 제안하는 방식으로 진행된다.

해남경찰서는 접수된 작품 가운데 우수작을 선정해 실제 청소년 사이버 도박 예방 홍보에도 적극 활용할 방침이다.

특히 선정된 슬로건은 컵홀더 등 각종 홍보물에 범죄 예방 문구로 제작해 청소년들이 일상생활 속에서 자연스럽게 사이버 도박의 위험성을 접하고 예방 메시지를 인식할 수 있도록 할 계획이다.

스마트폰과 인터넷 사용이 일상화되면서 청소년들이 온라인 도박에 노출될 가능성도 커지고 있는 만큼 단순한 단속을 넘어 청소년 스스로 위험성을 인식하도록 하는 예방교육과 사회적 관심도 중요해지고 있다.

박미영 해남경찰서장은 “이번 공모전을 통해 청소년들이 사이버 도박의 위험성을 인식하고 스스로 예방하는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 청소년 보호를 위한 예방 활동을 지속해서 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.

한편 해남경찰서가 배포한 보도자료에는 공모 기간이 ‘8월 31일부터 9월 31일까지’​로 기재돼 있으나 9월은 30일까지이기 때문에 정확한 접수 마감일은 해남경찰서 여성청소년과를 통해 확인할 필요가 있다.

The Haenam Police Station has launched a youth participation contest aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of cyber gambling among teenagers and fostering a culture of prevention.
The Haenam Police Station, headed by Chief Park Mi-young, announced on September 1 that it is holding a “Youth Cyber Gambling Crime Prevention Contest” for students.
The contest is designed to encourage young people to think about the risks of cyber gambling, which can be easily accessed online, and to raise awareness of its potentially serious consequences.
The theme of the contest is “Prevention and Eradication of Cyber Gambling Crimes Among Youth.”
Students are invited to submit creative and original slogans that clearly and powerfully communicate the dangers of cyber gambling and gambling addiction, as well as the importance of crime prevention.
The Haenam Police Station plans to select outstanding entries and use the winning slogans in future campaigns aimed at preventing cyber gambling among young people.
In particular, selected slogans will be printed as crime-prevention messages on cup holders and other promotional materials, allowing young people to encounter warnings about cyber gambling naturally in their everyday lives.
As smartphones and internet access have become an integral part of daily life, young people face increasing opportunities for exposure to online gambling. Authorities say that, in addition to enforcement, preventive education and broader community awareness are essential to helping teenagers recognize the risks and protect themselves.
“We hope this contest will provide an opportunity for young people to recognize the dangers of cyber gambling and develop the ability to protect themselves,” Chief Park Mi-young said. “We will continue to carry out preventive initiatives to safeguard young people.”
Meanwhile, the official press release issued by the Haenam Police Station states that the contest runs “from August 31 to September 31.” However, as September has only 30 days, the exact submission deadline should be confirmed with the Women and Juvenile Affairs Division of the Haenam Police Station.
