전남 해남교육지원청이 지역아동센터 방과후 프로그램 강사들의 학생 생활지도와 학부모 상담 역량을 높이기 위한 맞춤형 연수를 실시했다.

해남교육지원청은 28일 오전 교육발전특구 시범지역 사업으로 운영되고 있는 지역아동센터 연계 프로그램의 개인위탁 외부강사들을 대상으로 학생·학부모와의 원활한 소통 역량 강화를 위한 연수를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 연수는 강의 위주의 이론 교육에서 벗어나 모둠 활동과 실제 사례를 중심으로 진행됐다.

참여 강사들은 방과후 교육 현장에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 학생 생활지도 사례를 공유하고, 상황별 대처와 해결 방안을 함께 논의하며 현장에서 곧바로 활용할 수 있는 실천적인 지도 역량을 높였다.

특히 ‘마음을 여는 라포 대화법’을 통해 학생들과 신뢰 관계를 형성하는 방법을 익히고, 위기학생의 유형과 특성을 이해하면서 학생의 입장에서 공감하고 소통하는 방법을 함께 고민했다.

학생과 학부모를 상담하는 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 갈등 상황에 대한 대응 방법도 다뤘다.

강사들은 갈등이 발생했을 때 감정적으로 대응하기보다 객관적인 사실을 토대로 상황을 파악하고 대화하는 방법을 익혔으며, 실제 상담 과정에서 활용할 수 있는 효과적인 대화 사례를 공유했다.

이를 통해 학생과 학부모 사이에서 발생할 수 있는 갈등을 사전에 예방하고, 문제가 발생했을 경우 원활하게 해결할 수 있는 소통 역량을 강화하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

이번 연수는 학교뿐만 아니라 지역아동센터 등 지역사회 돌봄·교육 현장에서 활동하는 외부강사의 역할이 커지고 있는 상황에서 학생 생활지도와 상담에 필요한 실질적인 대응 능력을 높였다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

다만 교육발전특구 사업에 따라 추진해 온 지역아동센터 연계 프로그램은 올해를 끝으로 운영이 종료될 예정이다.

이에 해남교육지원청은 교육혁신선도지역 사업 등 후속 사업을 적극적으로 신청하는 한편 해남군 등 지자체와 협력을 강화해 지역아동센터와 연계한 교육 프로그램이 지속될 수 있도록 방안을 모색한다는 계획이다.

조연주 해남교육지원청 교육장은 “교육발전특구 사업의 일몰로 올해 지역아동센터 연계 프로그램 운영이 종료될 예정이지만, 교육혁신선도지역 사업 등을 적극 신청하고 지자체와 협력을 강화해 관련 프로그램이 지속적으로 운영될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

이어 “인간다움과 미래다움이 공존하는 해남다움을 실현하고 지역과 함께하는 교육을 지속적으로 펼쳐 나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.

The Haenam Office of Education has conducted a customized training program aimed at strengthening the student guidance and parent counseling skills of after-school instructors working with local child centers.
The education office said the training was held on the morning of Aug. 28 for contracted external instructors participating in programs linking local child centers with the Education Development Special Zone initiative. The program was designed to improve instructors’ ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
Rather than relying on lecture-based theoretical instruction, the training focused on active participation through group activities and discussions of real-life cases.
Participants shared various student guidance situations that could arise in after-school education settings and discussed appropriate responses and solutions, with an emphasis on developing practical skills that could be applied immediately in the field.
In particular, instructors learned how to build relationships of trust with students through “rapport-building communication techniques.” They also examined different types and characteristics of at-risk students and discussed ways to communicate with them from an empathetic, student-centered perspective.
The training also covered methods for dealing with conflicts that may arise during counseling sessions with students and parents.
Participants practiced responding to conflicts based on objective facts rather than emotion and reviewed effective communication examples that can be used in actual counseling situations.
The sessions were designed to strengthen instructors’ ability to prevent potential conflicts between students and parents and to communicate effectively when problems arise.
The training is particularly significant as external instructors are playing an increasingly important role not only in schools but also in community-based care and education settings, including local child centers. It was intended to equip instructors with practical skills needed for student guidance and counseling.
However, the local child center-linked program, which has been implemented under the Education Development Special Zone initiative, is scheduled to conclude at the end of this year.
In response, the Haenam Office of Education plans to actively apply for follow-up initiatives, including the Education Innovation Leading Region project, while strengthening cooperation with Haenam County and other local government authorities to explore ways to continue education programs linked to local child centers.
Cho Yeon-joo, superintendent of the Haenam Office of Education, said, “Although the local child center-linked program is scheduled to end this year with the expiration of the Education Development Special Zone initiative, we will do our utmost to ensure that related programs can continue by actively applying for projects such as the Education Innovation Leading Region initiative and strengthening cooperation with local governments.”
She added, “We will continue to pursue education together with the local community while realizing the unique vision of Haenam, where human values and future-oriented values coexist.”
