해남군장애인종합복지관이 장애·비장애 청소년과 가족이 함께 어울리는 여름축제를 열고 장애에 대한 이해와 존중의 가치를 나눴다.

해남군장애인종합복지관은 지난 8월 12일 복지관 일원에서 ‘2026년 제2회 해남군 청소년 어울림마당’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 다양한 놀이와 체험을 통해 청소년들이 서로의 차이를 자연스럽게 이해하고 존중하는 계기를 마련하기 위해 추진됐다.

행사에는 해남지역 아동센터 3곳과 YMCA 청소년방과후아카데미가 참여해 지역 청소년 간 교류와 소통의 폭을 넓혔다.

행사장에는 대형 에어풀장과 에어미끄럼틀 등 여름철 물놀이 시설이 마련됐다. 전문 레크리에이션 강사의 진행으로 물총게임과 팀별 미션, 몸풀기 게임 등 다양한 프로그램도 이어졌다.

체험부스와 푸드트럭, 먹거리 부스도 함께 운영돼 청소년과 가족들에게 다채로운 즐길 거리를 제공했다.

참여 청소년들은 게임과 체험을 함께하며 자연스럽게 서로를 알아갔다. 장애 여부와 관계없이 한 공간에서 뛰고 웃으며 즐거운 추억을 만들고, 서로의 차이를 받아들이고 배려하는 경험을 나눴다는 점에서 의미를 더했다.

행사에 참여한 한 청소년은 “처음에는 모르는 친구들이 많아 조금 어색했지만, 같이 게임하고 물놀이를 하면서 금방 친해졌다”며 “다음에도 또 참여하고 싶다”고 말했다.

또 다른 참여자는 “장애가 있든 없든 다 같이 놀다 보니 특별히 다르다는 생각이 들지 않았다”고 소감을 전했다.

김도영 해남군장애인종합복지관장은 “청소년들이 함께 어울리고 서로를 알아가는 경험이 장애에 대한 인식을 자연스럽게 바꾸는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 서로를 존중하고 더불어 살아가는 가치를 직접 느낄 수 있는 자리를 꾸준히 마련하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

해남군장애인종합복지관은 앞으로도 지역사회 아동·청소년과 유관기관이 참여할 수 있는 다양한 체험 프로그램을 운영하며 청소년 교류와 장애인식 개선의 기회를 지속해서 확대할 계획이다.

The Haenam County Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities hosted a summer festival where young people with and without disabilities, along with their families, came together to promote understanding and mutual respect.
The center held the “2026 Second Haenam County Youth Harmony Festival” on August 12 at its premises.
The event was organized to help young people understand, respect and embrace one another’s differences through a variety of recreational and hands-on activities.
Participants included young people from three local children’s centers in Haenam and the YMCA Youth After-School Academy, broadening opportunities for interaction and communication among local youth.
A large inflatable pool and water slide were installed at the venue. Led by a professional recreation instructor, participants also enjoyed water-gun games, team missions, warm-up exercises and other activities.
Experience booths, food trucks and snack stalls offered additional entertainment and refreshments to the young participants and their families.
Through games and shared experiences, the participants naturally got to know one another. Regardless of disability, they played and laughed together in the same space, creating lasting memories while learning to accept differences and show consideration for others.
“At first, I felt a little awkward because there were many people I did not know, but we quickly became friends while playing games and enjoying the water activities together,” one participant said. “I would like to take part again next time.”
Another participant said, “Once we all started playing together, it did not feel like anyone was particularly different, whether they had a disability or not.”
Kim Do-young, director of the Haenam County Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities, said, “I hope that the experience of spending time together and getting to know one another will help young people naturally develop a better understanding of disabilities.”
“We will continue creating opportunities where they can directly experience the values of mutual respect and living together as members of an inclusive community,” Kim added.
The center plans to continue operating a range of hands-on programs involving local children, young people and partner organizations, while expanding opportunities for youth interaction and greater disability awareness.
