해남경찰서 화산파출소가 화산자율방범대와 함께 공사장과 주요 도로 등 사고 취약지역을 돌며 주민 안전을 위한 합동순찰 활동을 실시했다.

이번 합동순찰에는 화산파출소와 화산자율방범대 대원들이 참여해 안전사고 발생 우려가 있는 공사장과 주민들의 왕래가 많은 장소, 주요 도로와 취약지역 등을 집중적으로 살폈다.

순찰대는 구성선착장 확장공사 현장과 관동마을 옹벽공사 현장을 방문해 안전시설 설치 상태와 주변 위험요인을 점검하고, 주민과 통행 차량의 안전을 위협할 수 있는 사항이 있는지 확인했다.

농촌지역에서 빈번하게 발생할 수 있는 농기계와 이륜차 사고 예방 활동도 함께 펼쳤다. 주민들에게 농기계 운행 전 등화장치와 제동장치를 점검하고 야간 운행 시 반사지를 부착하도록 안내했으며, 이륜차 운전자에게는 안전모 착용과 교통법규 준수를 당부했다.

야외활동 중 발생할 수 있는 각종 사고를 예방하기 위한 안전수칙도 안내했다. 위험요인이 발견되면 관계기관과 협력해 신속하게 개선할 수 있도록 현장 중심의 예방 활동을 강화했다.

화산파출소와 자율방범대는 순찰 과정에서 주민들을 만나 생활 주변의 위험요인과 안전 관련 애로사항을 청취했다. 폭염 속 온열질환 예방을 위해 시원한 생수를 나눠주며 충분한 수분 섭취와 한낮 야외활동 자제도 당부했다.

이홍주 화산파출소장은 “안전사고는 작은 부주의에서 시작되는 만큼 사전에 위험요인을 발견하고 예방하는 것이 중요하다.”며 “앞으로도 자율방범대와 긴밀히 협력해 지역 곳곳을 세심하게 살피고 주민 안전을 위한 예방 활동을 지속적으로 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.

The Hwasan Police Substation of Haenam Police Station conducted a joint patrol with the Hwasan Volunteer Patrol Unit to prevent accidents at construction sites, major roads, and other safety-vulnerable areas.
Officers and volunteer patrol members closely inspected construction sites considered at risk of accidents, areas with heavy pedestrian traffic, major roads, and other vulnerable locations throughout the community.
The joint patrol team visited the Guseong Pier expansion project and the Gwandong Village retaining wall construction site to inspect safety facilities and identify potential hazards that could endanger residents or passing vehicles.
The team also carried out activities aimed at preventing accidents involving agricultural machinery and motorcycles, which frequently occur in rural areas. Residents were advised to inspect lighting and braking systems before operating agricultural machinery and to attach reflective materials when driving at night. Motorcycle riders were urged to wear helmets and observe traffic regulations.
Safety guidelines were also provided to prevent accidents during outdoor activities. The patrol team strengthened field-based prevention efforts so that any identified hazards could be promptly addressed in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
During the patrol, police officers and volunteer members met with residents and listened to their concerns about safety hazards in their neighborhoods. They also distributed cold bottled water to help prevent heat-related illnesses and advised residents to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day.
“Because safety accidents often begin with a moment of carelessness, it is important to identify and eliminate hazards in advance,” said Lee Hong-joo, head of the Hwasan Police Substation. “We will continue working closely with the volunteer patrol unit to carefully monitor every corner of the community and carry out preventive activities to protect our residents.”
