해남군장애인종합복지관(관장 김도영)은 2026년 우양재단 영양죽 지원사업에 선정돼 지역 내 저작 및 소화에 어려움을 겪는 재가장애인 어르신들에게 영양죽을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 고령, 질병, 틀니 사용 등으로 일반식 섭취가 어려운 재가장애인을 대상으로 추진됐다. 복지관 담당자와 주민활동가(자원봉사자)가 함께 각 가정을 직접 방문해 영양죽을 전달하고 건강 상태와 생활 여건을 살피며 안부를 확인했다.

특히 독거 생활을 하거나 건강이 취약한 어르신들의 경우 식사 준비 자체가 어려운 상황이 많아 부드럽고 소화가 쉬운 영양죽이 실질적인 도움이 된 것으로 나타났다. 단순한 식품 지원을 넘어 생활 상태를 점검하고 정서적 안부를 나누는 돌봄 서비스까지 함께 이뤄져 의미를 더했다.

영양죽을 전달받은 한 어르신은 “작년에도 맛있게 먹었는데 올해도 이렇게 챙겨줘서 정말 고맙다”고 말했다. 또 다른 어르신은 “몸이 불편해 소화가 잘 안 되는데 죽은 부담 없이 먹을 수 있어 좋다”고 전했으며, 독거 어르신은 “혼자 사는 노인을 잊지 않고 챙겨줘 감사하다”며 고마움을 표현했다.

김도영 해남군장애인종합복지관장은 “영양죽 지원은 단순한 식품 전달을 넘어 건강 취약 재가장애인의 결식을 예방하고 안정적인 일상을 유지하는 데 큰 도움이 되고 있다”며 “무더운 날씨에도 함께 가정을 방문해 따뜻한 마음을 전해주신 주민활동가 여러분께 깊이 감사드린다”고 말했다.

이어 “앞으로도 지역사회와 긴밀히 협력해 장애인들이 건강한 일상을 이어갈 수 있도록 생활 현장에서 체감할 수 있는 맞춤형 복지서비스를 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 해남군장애인종합복지관은 지역 내 재가장애인과 취약계층의 건강한 식생활 지원을 비롯해 다양한 맞춤형 복지서비스를 제공하며 생활 밀착형 복지 실현에 힘쓰고 있다.

The Haenam Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities, headed by Director Kim Do-young, announced that it has delivered nutritious porridge to elderly homebound persons with disabilities who experience difficulties with chewing and digestion through the 2026 Wooyang Foundation Nutrition Porridge Support Program.
The program was designed for individuals with disabilities who have difficulty consuming regular meals due to old age, illness, or the use of dentures. Welfare center staff and community volunteers visited each recipient’s home in person to deliver the porridge while checking on their health conditions and daily living situations.
For many elderly residents living alone or in poor health, preparing meals can be a significant challenge. The soft and easily digestible nutritious porridge provided practical assistance and helped improve their nutritional intake. Beyond food support, the visits also served as an opportunity to monitor living conditions and offer emotional care and companionship.
One recipient expressed gratitude, saying, “I enjoyed the porridge last year, and I’m very thankful to receive it again this year.” Another said, “Because of my health condition, digestion is often difficult, but porridge is easy to eat and digest.” An elderly resident living alone added, “Thank you for remembering and caring for someone like me.”
Director Kim Do-young stated, “This nutrition porridge support program goes beyond simply providing food. It plays an important role in preventing skipped meals among vulnerable homebound persons with disabilities and helps them maintain stable daily lives.”
He continued, “I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the community volunteers who visited households and shared their kindness despite the hot weather. We will continue working closely with the local community to expand practical, customized welfare services that people can truly experience in their everyday lives.”
Meanwhile, the Haenam Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities remains committed to supporting healthy dietary habits for homebound persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups while expanding community-based welfare services that address everyday needs.
