전라남도국제농업박람회 사무국이 본격적인 영농철을 맞아 해남지역 농가를 찾아 일손돕기 활동을 펼치며 농업 현장과의 소통을 강화했다.

전라남도국제농업박람회는 최근 해남군 문내면의 한 오디 재배 농가를 방문해 수확 작업을 지원하고 농가 주변 환경정비 활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 활동은 농번기 인력 부족으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 농가를 지원하는 한편, 농업 현장의 목소리를 직접 듣고 지역사회와 상생하는 박람회 운영 가치를 실천하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 일손돕기에는 고숙주 사무국장을 비롯한 사무국 직원 9명이 참여해 수확 절정기를 맞은 오디 수확 작업을 도왔다. 또한 농가 주변 환경정비를 실시하며 쾌적한 영농환경 조성에도 힘을 보탰다.

참여 직원들은 일손돕기 활동을 마친 뒤 소통 간담회를 열어 부서 간 협력 강화 방안을 논의하고, 2027 국제농업박람회의 성공적인 개최를 위한 의지를 함께 다졌다.

농가 관계자는 “수확 시기에 일손이 부족해 어려움이 많았는데 직원들이 직접 찾아와 도와줘 큰 힘이 됐다”며 “2027 국제농업박람회도 성공적으로 개최돼 전남 농업의 우수성이 널리 알려지길 바란다”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

고숙주 전라남도국제농업박람회 사무국장은 “이번 일손돕기는 농업 현장의 어려움을 직접 체감하고 농업인들과 소통할 수 있었던 뜻깊은 시간이었다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 성장하며 2027 국제농업박람회가 추구하는 상생과 협력의 가치를 실천해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.

한편 2027 국제농업박람회는 ‘지구를 위한 해답, K-에너지 농업’을 주제로 오는 2027년 10월 22일부터 31일까지 10일간 전남 나주 전라남도농업기술원 일원에서 개최된다.

박람회에서는 신재생에너지 기반 농업기술을 비롯해 로봇·인공지능(AI) 활용 스마트농업, 자율주행 농기계, 청년농 창업기업 전시 등 미래 농업의 비전과 혁신 기술을 선보일 예정이다.

The Secretariat of the Jeonnam International Agriculture Expo recently visited a mulberry farm in Munnae-myeon, Haenam County, to provide volunteer labor support and strengthen communication with local farmers during the busy farming season.
According to the Secretariat, staff members assisted with harvesting mulberries and carried out environmental cleanup activities around the farm, helping to alleviate labor shortages faced by local agricultural households.
The volunteer activity was organized to support farmers experiencing difficulties due to a lack of manpower during the peak agricultural season while also promoting direct engagement with farming communities and reinforcing the Expo’s values of cooperation and coexistence with local society.
A total of nine Secretariat employees, including Secretary General Go Suk-ju, participated in the program. They assisted with harvesting work during the peak season and helped improve the farming environment by cleaning and organizing the surrounding area.
Following the volunteer activities, participants held a communication meeting to discuss ways to enhance interdepartmental cooperation and reaffirm their commitment to the successful hosting of the 2027 International Agriculture Expo.
A representative of the farm expressed gratitude, saying, “We have been struggling with labor shortages during the busiest harvest period. The support from the Secretariat staff was a tremendous help. We also hope that the 2027 International Agriculture Expo will be a great success and further promote the excellence of Jeonnam’s agriculture.”
Secretary General Go Suk-ju said, “This volunteer activity was a meaningful opportunity for our staff to better understand the challenges faced by farmers and communicate directly with them. We will continue to work alongside local communities and put into practice the values of mutual growth and cooperation that the 2027 International Agriculture Expo seeks to promote.”
Meanwhile, the 2027 International Agriculture Expo will be held under the theme “The Answer for the Earth: K-Energy Agriculture” from October 22 to October 31, 2027, at the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in Naju, South Korea.
The Expo will showcase the future of agriculture through innovative technologies and programs, including renewable energy-based farming systems, AI-powered smart agriculture, autonomous agricultural machinery, and exhibitions by young agricultural entrepreneurs and startups.
