해남 우리신협 제14대 이사장 선거에서 김영숙 후보가 압도적인 표차로 당선되며 조합원의 신뢰를 확인했다.
이번 선거는 안정된 성장과 새로운 변화를 동시에 원하는 조합원의 뜻이 분명히 드러난 선거로 평가된다.
이번 선거에는 총 선거인수 3,803명 중 1,641명이 투표에 참여해 높은 관심을 보였으며, 유효표 1,640표 가운데 김영숙 당선자는 1,328표를 얻어 경쟁 후보들을 큰 격차로 따돌리고 당선의 영예를 안았다.
무효표는 1표에 그쳤다.
김영숙 당선자는 당선 인사에서 “이번 결과는 개인의 승리가 아니라 신협의 안정된 성장과 변화를 바라는 조합원 모두의 승리”라며 “선의의 경쟁을 펼쳐주신 후보님들께 깊은 위로와 존경의 마음을 전한다.”고 밝혔다.
특히 김 당선자는 해남 지역에서 최초로 선출된 여성 사회단체장이라는 상징성을 지니며, 지역 금융기관 운영의 새로운 이정표를 세웠다는 평가를 받고 있다.
37년간 신협에서 근무해 온 김 당선자는 현장 중심의 실무 경험을 강점으로 내세우며, 선거 과정에서도 조합원과의 직접 소통과 실천 가능한 공약을 강조해왔다.
그는 “앞으로도 현장에서 조합원과 함께 호흡하며 신협의 새로운 변화를 만들어가겠다.”고 말했다.
이어 “조합원 중심 경영, 건전하고 투명한 경영을 통해 신협의 신뢰를 더욱 공고히 하고, 안정적인 수익 구조를 바탕으로 높은 배당으로 조합원께 보답하겠다.”며 “지역경제 활성화와 지역발전에 기여하는 해남 우리신협으로 키워가겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
지역 금융권 관계자는 “이번 선거 결과는 조합원들이 보여준 명확한 선택”이라며 “안정된 경영 경험과 변화에 대한 기대가 결합된 결과”라고 평가했다.
김영숙 당선자의 임기 동안 해남 우리신협이 조합원 중심의 협동조합 정신을 더욱 강화하고, 지역사회와 상생하는 금융기관으로 한 단계 도약할 수 있을지 주목된다.

Kim Young-sook was elected as the 14th chairperson of Haenam Woori Credit Union by an overwhelming margin, confirming the strong trust placed in her by the union’s members.
The election is being evaluated as a clear expression of members’ desire for both stable growth and meaningful change.
Out of a total of 3,803 eligible voters, 1,641 participated in the election, reflecting strong interest. Of the 1,640 valid ballots cast, Kim received 1,328 votes, winning by a decisive margin over the other candidates. There was only one invalid ballot.
In her victory remarks, Chairperson-elect Kim said,
“This result is not a personal victory, but a victory for all members who desire stable growth and change for our credit union,” adding, “I extend my sincere respect and encouragement to the other candidates who competed in good faith.”
Notably, Kim becomes the first woman to be elected as the head of a social organization in Haenam, a milestone widely seen as setting a new precedent for the leadership of local financial institutions.
With 37 years of experience working within the credit union system, Kim emphasized her strong background in on-site, practical operations. Throughout the campaign, she focused on direct communication with members and realistic, actionable pledges.
“I will continue to work alongside our members in the field and lead meaningful change for the credit union,” she said.
She added,
“Through member-centered management and sound, transparent governance, I will further strengthen trust in the credit union. By building a stable profit structure, we will deliver higher dividends to our members and develop Haenam Woori Credit Union into an institution that actively contributes to the local economy and regional development.”
A local financial industry official commented,
“The election result represents a clear choice made by the members. It reflects a combination of confidence in stable management experience and expectations for change.”
Attention is now focused on whether Haenam Woori Credit Union, under Kim Young-sook’s leadership, will further reinforce the cooperative spirit centered on its members and take another step forward as a financial institution that grows in harmony with the local community.
