해남교도소가 음주운전과 숙취운전을 공직 사회에서 완전히 뿌리 뽑겠다는 강력한 메시지를 천명했다.
해남교도소(소장 김남진)은 2월 2일 청사 대회의실에서 전 직원을 대상으로 ‘음주운전 근절 결의대회’를 개최하고, 음주운전 예방과 공직기강 확립을 위한 실천 의지를 다시 한 번 다졌다.
이번 결의대회는 연말연시와 정기 인사이동 등으로 각종 회식이 잦아지는 시기를 맞아, 자칫 느슨해질 수 있는 음주운전에 대한 경각심을 높이고, 공직자로서의 책임과 윤리를 분명히 하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 행사에서 해남교도소 전 직원은 음주운전·숙취운전 근절 선서를 진행했으며, 실천 의지를 담은 서약서를 제출하며 “단 한 번의 예외도 두지 않겠다.”는 각오를 공유했다.
김남진 소장은 결의대회에서 “음주운전은 개인의 실수가 아니라, 무고한 시민과 사랑하는 가족의 생명과 안전을 위협하는 중대한 범죄행위”라며 “공직자부터 스스로 엄격한 기준을 적용해 음주운전이 발붙일 틈 없는 조직 문화를 만들어야 한다.”고 강조했다.
해남교도소는 앞으로도 음주운전 예방 교육과 내부 점검을 지속적으로 추진해, 법 집행기관으로서의 책임성과 공직 윤리를 현장에서 실천하는 조직문화를 확립해 나갈 방침이다.

Haenam Prison Holds All-Staff Resolution to Completely Eradicate Drunk and Hangover Driving
Haenam Prison has issued a strong declaration to completely root out drunk driving and hangover driving from the public service sector.
On February 2, Haenam Prison (Warden: Kim Nam-jin) held a Drunk Driving Eradication Resolution Meeting in the main conference hall of the prison complex, reaffirming its firm commitment to preventing drunk driving and strengthening public service discipline.
The event was organized to heighten awareness of the dangers of drunk driving at a time when year-end gatherings and regular personnel transfers can lead to more frequent social drinking, potentially weakening vigilance. The aim was to clearly reinforce the responsibility and ethical standards expected of public officials.
During the event, all employees of Haenam Prison took a collective oath to eradicate drunk and hangover driving and submitted written pledges, sharing a unified resolve that “there will be no exceptions—not even once.”
In his address, Warden Kim Nam-jin emphasized,
“Drunk driving is not a simple personal mistake. It is a serious criminal act that threatens the lives and safety of innocent citizens and loved ones,” adding,
“Public officials must apply the strictest standards to themselves first, and build an organizational culture where drunk driving has no place to take root.”
Haenam Prison plans to continue preventive education and internal inspections on drunk driving, firmly establishing an organizational culture that practices public ethics and responsibility on the ground, in keeping with its role as a law-enforcement institution.
