한국농어촌공사 해남·완도지사(지사장 김대성)는 10월 29일 지자체 관계자, 농업인 등 다양한 이해관계자가 참석한 가운데 ‘2025년 하반기 수질환경보전회’를 개최하고 농업용 저수지 수질 보전을 위한 근본 대책 마련에 나섰다.

이번 회의에서는 지사에서 관리 중인 저수지들의 수질 관리 현황과 구성원별 역할 분담 이행실적이 공유됐다.

특히 중점 관리 저수지를 중심으로 해결이 어려운 수질 문제를 심도 있게 논의하고, 2025년 녹조 발생 원인 분석, 낚시객 대상 계도 방안, 효율적인 물 순환 필요성 등에 대해 구체적 대책을 모색했다.

올해는 이상고온으로 인해 녹조가 총 7회 발생했음에도 기존 방제 효과가 미미했던 것으로 나타났다.

이에 따라 농업인 대표는 “단순 방제가 아닌 근본적인 수질 개선 대책이 필요하다”고 강하게 요구했다.

김대성 지사장은 “기후변화로 수질 오염이 심화되고 있지만, 공사는 상류 오염원 저감과 체계적인 수질 관리 방안을 지속적으로 마련할 것”이라며 “지역사회와 협력해 깨끗하고 안전한 농업용수를 안정적으로 공급하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

이번 회의를 계기로 해남·완도지사는 실효성 있는 수질 개선 방안을 마련하고, 기후변화와 환경 악화에 대응하는 적극적 행보를 이어갈 계획이다.

Korea Rural Community Corporation Haenam-Wando Branch Holds 2025 Second Half Water Quality Conservation Meeting
The Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRCC) Haenam-Wando Branch (Director Kim Dae-sung) held the “2025 Second Half Water Quality Conservation Meeting” on October 29, with participation from local government officials, farmers, and various stakeholders. The meeting focused on establishing fundamental measures to preserve water quality in agricultural reservoirs.
At the meeting, the current water quality management status of reservoirs under the branch’s jurisdiction and the performance of role-sharing among stakeholders were shared.
Particular attention was given to key reservoirs where water quality issues are difficult to resolve. Discussions included an analysis of the causes of algae blooms in 2025, measures to educate anglers, and the need for efficient water circulation, aiming to develop practical and effective solutions.
This year, despite seven occurrences of algae blooms due to unusually high temperatures and the implementation of control measures, the results were limited.
In response, a representative of the farming community emphasized the need for “fundamental water quality improvement measures, rather than temporary control efforts.”
Director Kim Dae-sung stated, “Although water pollution is intensifying due to climate change, the corporation will continue to implement upstream pollution reduction and systematic water quality management plans. Through cooperation with the local community, we will ensure the stable supply of clean and safe agricultural water.”
Building on this meeting, the Haenam-Wando Branch plans to implement practical water quality improvement measures and continue proactive efforts to respond to climate change and environmental degradation.
