한국농어촌공사 해남완도지사(지사장 김대성) 농지은행팀은 10월 22일 조선대 해양생물연구교육센터에서 열린 ‘2025년 완도군 귀농·귀촌 희망학교’에서 농지은행 사업을 주제로 강의를 진행했다.

이번 강의에서는 농지은행의 개념과 사업 참여 방법, 혜택 등을 상세히 안내하며, 귀농인들이 안정적으로 농업을 시작할 수 있도록 실질적인 정보를 제공했다.

농지은행사업은 고령화로 농지를 매각하거나 이양하려는 농업인에게 안정적인 노후를 지원하는 동시에, 청년농과 귀농·귀촌인에게는 농지를 안정적으로 임대·매입할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는 제도다.

한국농어촌공사는 이를 통해 지역 농업의 지속 가능성을 높이고 신규 농업인의 안정적인 정착을 촉진하는 역할을 수행하고 있다.

강의에 참석한 한 완도군 귀어·귀촌인은 “농지은행 사업 덕분에 농업 진입 장벽이 낮아졌고, 과원규모화 사업 참여를 통해 유자와 블루베리 농업을 시작할 구체적인 계획을 세우는 데 큰 도움이 되었다.

덕분에 농업 시작에 자신감을 갖게 됐다”고 소감을 전했다.

해남완도지사 농지은행팀 관계자는 “이번 강의를 통해 귀어·귀촌인들이 농지 구입 및 임대 과정에서 겪는 어려움을 해소하고, 농지은행 사업이 어떻게 도움이 되는지 잘 전달된 것 같아 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 농지은행 사업 정보를 널리 알리고, 농업인들이 보다 나은 조건에서 농업을 시작할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Hope for New Farmers Blooms Through the Farmland Bank
The Farmland Bank Team of the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRCC) Haenam-Wando Branch (Director: Kim Dae-sung) conducted a lecture on the Farmland Bank program on October 22 at the Chosun University Marine Biology Research and Education Center, as part of the “2025 Wando County New Farmers and Returnees Hope School.”
During the lecture, the team provided detailed information on the concept of the Farmland Bank, how to participate in the program, and its benefits, offering practical guidance to help new farmers start agriculture with confidence.
The Farmland Bank program supports aging farmers who wish to sell or transfer their farmland by ensuring a stable retirement, while providing opportunities for young farmers and new or returning farmers to lease or purchase farmland securely.
Through this program, the KRCC contributes to enhancing the sustainability of local agriculture and promotes the stable settlement of new farmers.
One attendee from Wando County shared, “Thanks to the Farmland Bank program, the barriers to entering agriculture have lowered. Participating in the orchard scaling project has been very helpful in planning specific ventures, such as yuzu and blueberry farming. It has given me the confidence to start farming.”
A representative from the Haenam-Wando Branch’s Farmland Bank Team stated, “We are pleased that the lecture helped new and returning farmers overcome difficulties in purchasing or leasing farmland and clearly conveyed how the Farmland Bank program can assist them. We will continue to actively promote the program and support farmers in starting agriculture under better conditions.”
