가을의 해남이 세계 여자 골프의 중심으로 떠오른다.
국내 유일의 LPGA(미국여자프로골프) 정규투어 대회인 ‘2025 BMW 레이디스 챔피언십’이 오는 10월 16일부터 19일까지 화원면 파인비치 골프링크스에서 열린다.
호남권에서 LPGA 대회가 개최되는 것은 이번이 처음으로, 수도권과 부산 등 대도시 중심으로 열리던 기존 대회와 차별화된 의미를 지닌다.
파인비치 골프링크스는 오시아노 관광단지의 환상적인 해안 경관을 자랑하는 시사이드(sea-side) 코스로, 대한민국 10대 코스에 선정된 명문 골프장이다.
국내외 최정상급 선수들이 남도의 청명한 가을 날씨 속에서 경기를 펼치며, 관람객들에게 지금까지 볼 수 없었던 명장면을 선사할 것으로 기대된다.
이번 대회에는 LPGA 상위 랭커 68명과 국내 초청 선수 10명 등 총 78명의 세계 최정상급 여자 프로골프 선수가 참가한다. 현재 참가가 확정된 선수로는 LPGA 1위 지노티티쿨(태국)을 비롯해 리디아 고(호주), 이민지(호주), 넬리 코르다(미국), 한나 그린(호주), 유혜란(한국), 김효주(한국), 고진영(한국) 등이 포함돼 있다.
대회 기간 동안 주요 선수 및 진행요원 700여명이 해남에서 숙박하며, 사전 예약이 이어지는 등 숙박·외식업 등 지역경제에도 긍정적 파급효과가 예상된다.
LPGA 대회 실황은 전 세계 170여개 국 약 5억 7,000만 가구에 생중계되며, 현장에는 5~6만 명의 관람객이 방문할 것으로 전망된다.
대회 입장권은 BMW 밴티지 앱을 통해 회원 가입 후 구매 가능하며, 가격은 평일권 4만 원, 주말권 6만 원이다.
현장 구매도 가능하며, 해남군민은 50% 할인 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
대회 일정은 14일 개회식 및 프로암, 15일 선수 기자회견 및 미디어 인터뷰, 16일부터 19일까지 본대회 3라운드 경기 및 최종 결승·시상식으로 구성됐다.
해남군은 대회 성공적 개최를 위해 범군민 준비위원회를 구성, 시설 준비, 교통·안전·의료 대책, 지역 홍보 등 세부사항을 면밀히 점검하고 있다.
대회 기간 중 임시주차장과 셔틀버스 운영, 응급의료부스 및 자원봉사 서비스 등 관람객 편의와 안전 확보에도 만전을 기할 예정이다.
특히, 이번 대회를 세계에 해남을 알리는 기회로 삼아 관광지와 특산물 홍보 부스 운영, 선수·갤러리 참여 김장체험 등 다양한 문화·관광 프로그램도 마련된다.
명현관 해남군수는 “이번 LPGA 대회를 통해 전 세계에 해남군의 위상을 알리고, 지역경제와 관광 활성화에도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.”며 “대회 성공 개최를 위해 남은 기간까지 준비에 만전을 기하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Haenam Hosts World-Class LPGA Players at the 2025 BMW Ladies Championship
– October 16–19 at Haenam Pine Beach Country Club, Korea’s only LPGA regular tour event– Broadcast to over 170 countries, expected 50,000–60,000 spectators, boosting local economy and tourism

This October, Haenam is set to become the center of the world’s women’s golf.
The 2025 BMW Ladies Championship, Korea’s only LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) regular tour event, will be held from October 16 to 19 at Pine Beach Golf Links in Hwawon-myeon, Haenam.
This is the first time an LPGA tournament will be hosted in the Honam region, marking a significant departure from previous events typically held near major cities such as Seoul and Busan.
Pine Beach Golf Links, located within the Osiano Tourist Complex, boasts breathtaking seaside views and has been recognized as one of Korea’s Top 10 golf courses. The world’s top-ranked players will compete under the clear autumn skies of southern Korea, promising spectators unprecedented moments of elite golf performance.
A total of 78 top female professional golfers will participate, including 68 international LPGA-ranked players and 10 domestic invitees. Confirmed participants include LPGA No.1 Jinotitikul (Thailand), Lydia Ko (Australia), Minjee Lee (Australia), Nelly Korda (USA), Hannah Green (Australia), Yu Hye-ran (Korea), Kim Hyo-joo (Korea), and Ko Jin-young (Korea).
During the tournament, over 700 players and staff members will stay in Haenam, while advance bookings by spectators are expected to generate significant benefits for the local accommodation and dining sectors.
The championship will be broadcast live to more than 170 countries, reaching approximately 570 million households worldwide, with 50,000–60,000 spectators expected to attend on-site.
Tickets are available via the BMW Vantage app, priced at KRW 40,000 for weekdays and KRW 60,000 for weekends. Tickets can also be purchased on-site, with a 50% discount for Haenam residents.
The tournament schedule includes a pro-am and opening ceremony on October 14, press conferences and media interviews on October 15, followed by three rounds of competition from October 16–19, concluding with the final round and awards ceremony.
To ensure the successful execution of the tournament, Haenam County has established a comprehensive citizen preparation committee to coordinate facility readiness, traffic, safety, medical services, and promotional activities. Temporary parking lots, shuttle buses, emergency medical booths, and volunteer services will be provided to guarantee spectator convenience and safety.
The event also serves as an opportunity to promote Haenam to the world, featuring booths showcasing local attractions and specialty products, as well as cultural and tourism programs such as kimchi-making experiences involving both players and spectators.
Haenam County Governor Myung Hyun-gwan stated, “Through this LPGA tournament, we expect to enhance Haenam’s international profile and significantly contribute to local economic and tourism development. We are fully committed to ensuring the successful hosting of this world-class event.”
