진도군 농업기술센터와 한국농촌지도자회 진도군연합회(회장 강남철)는 최근 깨끗한 농촌 환경 조성과 저탄소 생활 실천을 위해 농약 빈 병 8톤을 수거했다.
회원들은 읍·면별로 방치된 빈 병을 모아 종류별로 분류한 뒤 환경관리센터로 운반·처리했다.
농약 빈 병은 재활용 가능하지만 방치 시 토양과 수질 오염을 초래할 수 있어 관리가 중요하다.
강남철 회장은 “회원들의 자발적 참여로 농촌 환경 개선에 기여했다.”며, 진도군농업기술센터는 “농약 빈 병 수거는 탄소중립 실천의 중요한 과정”이라고 밝혔다.
지난해 6톤 수거에 비해 올해 8톤으로 수거량이 늘어나며 저탄소 생활과 환경보호 실천이 확산되고 있다.

Jindo County Rural Leaders Collect 8 Tons of Empty Pesticide Bottles to Promote Low-Carbon Living
The Jindo Agricultural Technology Center, together with the Korea Rural Leaders Association, Jindo County Chapter (President Kang Nam-cheol), recently collected 8 tons of empty pesticide bottles to promote a clean rural environment and practice low-carbon living.
Members gathered abandoned bottles across towns and villages, sorted them by type, and transported them to the Environmental Management Center for proper disposal.
While empty pesticide bottles can be recycled, leaving them unattended can pollute soil and water, making proper management essential.
President Kang Nam-cheol stated, “The voluntary participation of our members contributed significantly to improving the rural environment.” A representative from the Jindo Agricultural Technology Center added, “Collecting empty pesticide bottles is an important step in practicing carbon neutrality.”
Compared to 6 tons collected last year, this year’s collection increased to 8 tons, reflecting a growing commitment to low-carbon living and environmental protection.
