진도소방서(서장 김재출)는 11일 진도경찰서를 방문해 경찰관들을 대상으로 심폐소생술(CPR) 및 응급처치 교육을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 심정지 등 응급상황 발생 시 초동대응 기관인 경찰의 현장 대응 역량을 강화하고, 소방·경찰 간 유기적인 협력체계를 구축하기 위해 마련됐다.

교육에는 진도소방서 구급대원이 직접 강사로 참여해 심폐소생술의 중요성을 설명하고, 자동심장충격기(AED) 사용법과 기도폐쇄 환자 대처 요령을 중심으로 실습 위주로 진행됐다.

경찰관들은 실제 상황을 가정한 모의훈련을 통해 심폐소생술 절차를 직접 체득하며 응급처치 능력을 향상시켰다.

진도소방서 관계자는 “경찰이 현장에서 심 정지 환자를 신속히 발견하고 적절히 대처한다면 소중한 생명을 살릴 가능성이 크게 높아진다.”며 “앞으로도 유관기관을 대상으로 한 응급처치 교육을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.

김재출 서장은 “이번 교육은 경찰과 소방이 함께 현장 대응 능력을 끌어올린 실질적 협력의 시간이었다.”며 “군민의 생명과 안전을 지키기 위해 앞으로도 다양한 기관과의 공조를 강화하겠다.”고 강조했다.

“Police Save Lives” — Jindo Fire Station Conducts CPR Training for Jindo Police Officers
The Jindo Fire Station (Chief Kim Jae-chul) announced on the 11th that it had visited the Jindo Police Station to conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid training for police officers.
The training aimed to enhance the on-site emergency response capabilities of police officers, who are often the first responders to cardiac arrest and other emergencies, and to strengthen cooperative systems between the fire and police departments.
Emergency medical technicians from the Jindo Fire Station led the session, emphasizing the importance of CPR and providing hands-on instruction on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and how to respond to airway obstruction cases. Police officers practiced CPR procedures through realistic simulation drills, improving their first aid proficiency.
A Jindo Fire Station official stated, “If police officers can promptly recognize and respond to cardiac arrest situations in the field, the chances of saving lives increase significantly,” adding that “the fire station will continue expanding first aid education programs for related organizations.”
Chief Kim Jae-chul remarked, “This training served as a meaningful opportunity for the police and fire departments to strengthen their joint field response capabilities,” and emphasized, “We will continue to enhance cooperation with various organizations to protect the lives and safety of our residents.”
