완도해양경찰서(서장 김길규)는 11일 해양 안전 정책의 추진 방향을 논의하고 현장 중심의 치안 역량을 강화하기 위해 ‘2025년 하반기 정책자문위원회 정기회의’를 열었다.

이번 회의에 앞서 완도해경은 신규 정책자문위원 위촉장 수여식과 유공위원 감사장 전달식을 진행하며 자문위원회 운영의 전문성과 지속성 확보에 나섰다.

회의에는 해양·행정·교육·지역사회 등 다양한 분야의 전문가들이 참석해, 완도해양경찰서가 추진 중인 주요 현안 및 중점 업무에 대한 보고를 듣고 의견을 나눴다.

특히 해양사고 예방 강화, 지역사회 협력 확대, 국민 체감형 해안 치안 구현 방안을 중심으로 현장 적용 가능한 실질적 개선책에 대한 심도 있는 토론이 이어졌다.

자문위원들은 “정책 추진이 단순 행정절차에 머물지 않고, 현장 목소리와 민간 전문가 의견이 중심이 되어야 한다.”는 의견에 공감대를 모았다.

또한 해양 안전 문화 확산을 위한 협업 네트워크 구축의 중요성도 강조됐다.

완도해양경찰서 관계자는 “정책자문위원회는 해경과 지역사회의 의견을 잇는 중요한 소통 플랫폼”이라며 “위원들의 제언을 적극 반영해 국민이 체감하는 안전한 바다 환경 조성에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Wando Coast Guard Holds 2025 Second Half Policy Advisory Committee Meeting**
The Wando Coast Guard (Chief Kim Gil-gyu) held the 2025 Second Half Policy Advisory Committee Regular Meeting on the 11th, discussing the direction of maritime safety policies and strengthening field-oriented maritime security capabilities.
Prior to the meeting, the Wando Coast Guard conducted an appointment ceremony for newly selected advisory committee members and presented letters of appreciation to distinguished members, reinforcing the professionalism and continuity of the committee’s operations.
Experts from various fields, including maritime, administration, education, and community sectors, participated in the meeting to receive reports on key issues and priority tasks currently being pursued by the Wando Coast Guard, and to exchange opinions.
In particular, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions on practical and applicable improvement measures focused on strengthening maritime accident prevention, expanding cooperation with local communities, and implementing citizen-centered coastal security services.
Committee members shared the view that maritime safety policies should not remain mere administrative procedures, but must be driven by voices from the field and collaboration with private-sector experts. The importance of building a cooperative network to promote a culture of maritime safety was also emphasized.
A Wando Coast Guard official stated,
