“질문이 수업을 바꾼다!” — 해남교육지원청, ‘IB 프로그램 톺아보기’ 연수 실시

해남교육지원청(교육장 조연주)은 10월 29일(화) 3층 연수실에서 관내 교원 30명을 대상으로 ‘국제 바칼로레아(IB) 프로그램 톺아보기’ 연수를 실시했다.

이번 연수는 IB 프로그램의 철학을 이해하고, 학생의 사고력과 탐구력을 키우는 수업 혁신 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 강의는 대구글로벌교육센터 글로벌교육부장 윤준 교육연구관이 맡아 진행했다.

윤 연구관은 IB의 핵심 개념과 교육철학을 중심으로, “IB는 특정한 교육과정이 아니라 교육을 바라보는 하나의 프레임워크”라고 강조했다.

이어 학생의 사고를 확장시키는 ‘좋은 질문’의 중요성을 짚으며, 탐구 기반 수업의 실제 사례와 교실 적용 전략을 공유했다.

연수에 참여한 교사들은 IB 수업의 방향성을 이해하고, 수업 혁신에 대한 새로운 영감을 얻는 시간을 가졌다.

한 교사는 “IB가 낯설고 어렵게 느껴졌는데, 오늘 연수를 통해 우리 교실에서도 충분히 구현할 수 있겠다는 확신이 생겼다”고 소감을 전했다.

조연주 교육장은 “이번 연수를 통해 교사들이 수업을 새롭게 바라보는 시각을 넓히고, 학생이 스스로 배우며 성장하는 학습 문화를 만들어 가길 바란다.”며 “IB뿐 아니라 학교의 여건과 학생의 요구, 지역사회의 기대를 반영해 해남만의 교육 색깔을 만들어가길 기대한다.”고 말했다.
한편, 해남교육지원청은 앞으로도 교원의 전문성 신장과 수업 혁신을 위해 탐구 중심의 교원 연수 프로그램을 지속 운영할 계획이다.

“Questions Transform the Classroom!” — Haenam Office of Education Holds ‘Exploring the IB Program’ Training
30 teachers participate… Commitment to inquiry-based teaching and meaningful learning
The Haenam Office of Education (Director Cho Yeon-joo) held a training session titled “Exploring the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program)” on October 29 (Tuesday) at the third-floor training room, with 30 teachers from local schools in attendance.
The training was designed to help participants understand the philosophy of the IB program and explore ways to innovate classroom instruction that nurtures students’ thinking and inquiry skills.
The session was led by Yoon Jun, Head of the Global Education Department at the Daegu Global Education Center. Yoon emphasized that “IB is not a specific curriculum, but rather a framework for viewing education.” He highlighted the importance of asking “good questions” that expand students’ thinking and presented practical strategies and examples of inquiry-based teaching that teachers can apply in their classrooms.
Participating teachers gained a deeper understanding of the IB approach and found new inspiration for classroom innovation. One teacher commented, “IB once felt unfamiliar and difficult, but today’s training gave me confidence that we can meaningfully integrate its principles into our own lessons.”
Director Cho Yeon-joo remarked, “Through this training, I hope teachers broaden their perspectives on teaching and cultivate a classroom culture where students learn and grow independently.” She added, “Beyond the IB framework, I expect each school to develop its own unique educational identity that reflects local contexts, student needs, and community expectations.”
The Haenam Office of Education plans to continue offering inquiry-centered professional development programs to enhance teacher expertise and promote classroom innovation.
