“지속가능한 미래, 교육이 이끈다!”

전라남도진도교육지원청(교육장 김미)은 10월 28일(화) 오후 3시부터 6시까지 교육지원청 대회의실에서 ‘2025 보배섬 진도교육 인력풀 ESG 활동가’ 60여 명을 대상으로 역량강화 연수 및 협의회를 개최했다.

이번 행사는 지역 인재 양성과 지속가능한 교육 생태계 조성을 목표로 마련되었으며, ‘진도교육 ESG’ 사업 취지 공유, 운영 방향 안내, ESG 교육 특강(전라남도 ESG협회 이서 대표), 분과별 활동 협의 등의 순서로 진행됐다.

연수에서는 지속가능한 진도를 위한 교육의 역할과 ESG 운영 우수 사례가 소개되며, 학교 현장에서 ESG 가치가 어떻게 실현될 수 있는지를 구체적으로 논의했다.

‘진도교육 ESG’ 사업은 미래사회 변화에 대응하기 위해 학교 현장의 수요에 맞춰 사회정서(문화예술), 진로직업, 교육복지, 생태환경 등 4개 분과 중심의 맞춤형 인력풀을 구성하여 운영한다.

이를 통해 ESG(Environmental·Social·Governance) 기반의 교육 지원을 강화하고, 학생들에게 진로 탐색의 폭을 넓히며 환경과 사회적 책임 의식을 함양할 계획이다.

특히 지역민, 분과별 전문가, 체험처 강사, 자원봉사자, 유관기관 담당자 등이 함께하는 ‘진도형 교육 인력풀’을 조직해, 학교 현장에 즉각적인 지원이 가능한 네트워크형 체계로 운영할 예정이다.
연수에 참여한 한 진로직업 분과 참가자는 “학생들이 단순한 직업 체험을 넘어 사회문제 해결형 직업 세계를 이해할 수 있도록 돕는 데 큰 책임감을 느꼈다.”라며 “ESG 관점의 진로교육이 학생들의 가치 기반 진로 설계에 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.”고 말했다.

김미 교육장은 “ESG 가치를 내재화한 교육은 지역과 학생의 미래를 함께 설계하는 일”이라며 “이번 진도형 ESG 인력풀 운영을 통해 학교 지원 역량을 강화하고, 지속가능한 지역교육 생태계 구축에 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

Jindo Office of Education Takes the First Step Toward ‘Jindo Education ESG’
– Establishment of Four Sectoral Task Forces: Socio-Emotional (Culture & Arts), Career & Vocational Education, Educational Welfare, and Eco-Environment –
The Jindo Office of Education (Director Kim Mi) held a capacity-building workshop and consultative meeting for about 60 “2025 Bobaeseom Jindo Education ESG talent pool activists” on Tuesday, October 28, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Education Office’s main conference hall.
Aimed at fostering local talent and building a sustainable educational ecosystem, the event included sessions on the purpose of the Jindo Education ESG initiative, operational guidelines, a special lecture on ESG education by Lee Seo, President of the Jeollanam-do ESG Association, and group discussions within each sectoral division.
During the workshop, participants explored the role of education in creating a sustainable Jindo and reviewed successful examples of ESG-based educational practices, discussing ways to apply ESG values in school settings.
The Jindo Education ESG program was designed to respond to the evolving needs of future society by forming a customized talent pool centered on four key divisions — Socio-Emotional (Culture & Arts), Career & Vocational Education, Educational Welfare, and Eco-Environment.
Through ESG-based (Environmental, Social, and Governance) educational support, the Office plans to expand students’ career exploration opportunities while strengthening awareness of environmental and social responsibility.
In particular, the Office has organized a “Jindo-style education talent pool” that includes local residents, field experts, experiential learning instructors, volunteers, and related agency representatives, enabling a rapid-response support system for schools through a collaborative network.
A participant from the Career & Vocational Division shared,
“I felt a great sense of responsibility in helping students understand career paths that address real social challenges, rather than merely experiencing jobs,” adding,
“Approaching career education from an ESG perspective will offer students meaningful guidance for building value-oriented futures.”
Director Kim Mi emphasized,
“Embedding ESG values into education means co-designing the future of both our students and our community,” and added,
“Through the operation of the Jindo-style ESG talent pool, we will strengthen school support capacities and build a sustainable local education ecosystem.”
