완도군, 올가을 힐링은 ‘약산 해안 치유의 숲’에서!

전국 최초로 산림과 해양이 어우러진 ‘완도 약산 해안 치유의 숲’이 올가을 최적의 힐링 여행지로 각광받고 있다.

완도군은 지난 2022년 약산면 해동리 일원(산 123-2)에 총 60억 원을 투입해 조성했으며, 산림·해양 치유와 교육이 결합된 다채로운 산림 복지 서비스를 제공하고 있다.

방문객은 꾸준히 증가세를 보이고 있다.

2023년 10,986명, 2024년 11,791명이 다녀가면서 매년 이용객이 늘고 있으며, 만족도 100%라는 조사 결과까지 나타났다.

재방문 의향 또한 매우 높은 것으로 확인됐다.
약산 해안 치유의 숲에는 너울풍길(673m), 숲내음길(850m), 동백향길(540m), 해오름길(1,500m) 등 4개 테마 숲길이 조성돼 있다.

특히 동백나무, 붉가시나무, 구실잣밤나무 등 난대림 군락지에서 발생하는 풍부한 피톤치드와 바다 조망이 더해져 걷기만 해도 심신 치유 효과가 큰 것이 특징이다.

또한 숲속 체조, 명상, 족욕 프로그램은 물론 아로마 목걸이·항균 스프레이 만들기 체험 등 다양한 힐링 프로그램이 운영되고 있으며, 군은 해수 온열 치유실을 정비해 만족도를 더욱 높인다는 계획이다.

군 관계자는 “약산 해안 치유의 숲은 단순한 산책 공간이 아니라 몸과 마음을 치유하는 ‘쉼의 공간’”이라며 “올가을 진정한 힐링이 필요하다면 완도에서 숲과 바다를 동시에 느껴보시기 바란다.”고 말했다.

Wando County Invites Visitors to Heal This Fall at the ‘Yaksan Coastal Healing Forest’
Four themed trails, including “Haeoreum-gil,” gaining popularity as visitor numbers rise every year
The Yaksan Coastal Healing Forest in Wando — the nation’s first destination where forest and ocean environments come together — is emerging as one of the top healing travel spots for this fall.
Wando County invested 6 billion KRW in 2022 to create the Healing Forest in Haedong-ri, Yaksan-myeon (San 123-2), offering a wide range of forest and marine healing programs and educational services as part of its expanded forest welfare initiatives.
The number of visitors has shown steady growth. A total of 10,986 people visited in 2023, followed by 11,791 visitors in 2024, with satisfaction surveys indicating a 100% satisfaction rate and a very high intention to revisit.
The Yaksan Coastal Healing Forest features four themed walking trails: Neoulpoong-gil (673m), Supnaeeum-gil (850m), Dongbaekhyang-gil (540m), and Haeoreum-gil (1,500m). The trails are especially popular for their healing atmosphere, surrounded by warm-temperate forest species such as camellia, red oak, and evergreen chinquapin. The area is rich in phytoncides and offers open ocean views, providing both visual and emotional relaxation simply by walking.
In addition, various healing programs are available, including forest stretching, meditation, footbaths, and hands-on activities such as crafting aroma necklaces and antibacterial sprays. Wando County also announced plans to upgrade the sea-water thermal healing facilities to further enhance visitor satisfaction.
A county official stated, “The Yaksan Coastal Healing Forest is more than a walking trail — it is a space for true mind-and-body restoration. We invite everyone seeking real rest this fall to come to Wando and experience the harmony of forest and sea.”
