10월 18일 오후 5시 해남군민광장에서 해남 다인들의 화합과 전통 차문화의 향기를 더하는 제34호 초의문화제 전야제가 성황리에 열렸다.

이날 전야제는 해남다인회를 비롯해 다도대학 관계자와 지역의 차를 사랑하는 다수의 차인들이 함께한 가운데, 회원 찻자리, 사물놀이 공연, 차 시연 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 꾸며졌다.

또한 녹차·그림·차 도구 등 다양한 경품 추첨 행사가 진행돼 참가자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

행사장에는 해남다인회 회원을 비롯해 지역 차인들이 한자리에 모여 차향으로 교류하고 우정을 나누며, 초의선사의 뜻을 기리는 뜻 깊은 시간을 가졌다.

정기봉 해남다인회 회장은 “오늘 이 자리는 회원 모두가 함께하는 축제의 마당이자 해남인들의 정신문화의 꽃”이라며, “해남 차인들의 자부심을 바탕으로 차의 대중화와 전통문화 계승에 더욱 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
또한 정 회장은 이번 행사를 위해 헌신한 다도대학 관계자들에게 깊은 감사의 뜻을 전하며, 앞으로도 차를 통한 소통과 문화 확산의 장이 지속되기를 바랐다.

이번 전야제는 초의문화제 본 행사에 앞서 차인들의 마음을 하나로 모은 내실 있는 축제의 한마당으로, 해남의 전통 다도문화 저변 확대에 의미 있는 시간을 더했다.

A Grand Gathering of Tea Enthusiasts in Haenam
The 34th Choui Cultural Festival Eve was successfully held in Haenam, bringing together tea lovers to celebrate harmony and the beauty of traditional Korean tea culture.
The event featured a variety of programs including tea gatherings by members, samulnori (traditional Korean percussion) performances, and tea-brewing demonstrations, hosted by the Haenam Tea Association, the Tea Ceremony College, and numerous tea enthusiasts from across the region.
In addition, a lucky draw event offering prizes such as green tea, paintings, and tea utensils drew enthusiastic participation from attendees.
Members of the Haenam Tea Association and tea lovers from various places came together to share friendship over cups of tea and to honor the spirit and legacy of Venerable Choui, a pioneer of Korean tea culture.
Jeong Gi-bong, President of the Haenam Tea Association, said,
“Today’s gathering is a festival for all our members and a true expression of Haenam’s spiritual culture. It is a source of great pride for tea lovers in Haenam, and we will continue our efforts to popularize tea and preserve our traditional culture.”
President Jeong also expressed his deep gratitude to the Tea Ceremony College for their dedication in preparing the event, emphasizing the importance of continuing to promote communication and cultural exchange through tea.
Held on the eve of the main Choui Cultural Festival, this event served as a meaningful and well-organized celebration, uniting the hearts of tea enthusiasts and contributing to the wider appreciation of Haenam’s traditional tea culture.
